The retreats are situated on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island and have not been affected by the December 2019 and January 2020 bushfires at the western end of the Island.

When travelling to Kingscote, approximately a 25 minute drive – Cactus is an excellent choice for lunch with a contemporary menu and a great representation of Kangaroo Island’s laid back lifestyle.

Within 10 minutes of ONE KANGAROO ISLAND, with a sense of adventure and nature based experiences, join a dolphin safari with Kangaroo Island Ocean Safaris or a nocturnal penguin discovery tour with the Penneshaw Penguin Centre.

One KI and Walcowrie are conveniently located within close proximity - however with full privacy and seclusion from each property.
The accommodation is conveniently located between Kingscote Airport and the Penneshaw ferry terminal.
Qantas currently flies from Adelaide Airport to Kingscote on Kangaroo Island twice a week (on Wednesdays and Fridays). See the Qantas website for more information. If you require airport transfer, we recommend contacting either Kangaroo Island Wilderness Tours or Exceptional Kangaroo Island. Alternatively, there are car rental operators in Kingscote and Penneshaw. The drive from Kingscote Airport to both ONE KI and Walcowrie is roughly 25 minutes.
If you are travelling via car, Sealink operates ferries to and from the island, running between Cape Jervis (on the Fleurieu Peninsula) and Penneshaw. The drive from Adelaide to Cape Jervis is three hours. The ferry crossing is 45min. Alternatively, for those travelling without a vehicle, Kangaroo Island Connect offers a passenger ferry service between Cape Jervis and Penneshaw, as well as car rental on the island. From Penneshaw, both ONE KI and Walcowrie are a short 10 minute drive.
All reservations accepted include hosting, with breakfast and dinner provisions included in the rate.
At this time, reservations without hosting are not offered.
As a luxury, private accommodation - children aged 5 years and above are accepted at One Kangaroo Island however the full nightly tariff applies. Children are accepted at Walcowrie, charged at 75% of the full adult rate.
Children under 1 year of age are accepted at no additional charge.
Dietary and special meal requests can be catered for. Please advise your agent, or via email prior to your arrival to ensure that your requests can be fulfilled.
One Kangaroo Island does not provide touring, however we work closely with Exceptional Kangaroo Island, and Kangaroo Island Wilderness Tours who offer comprehensive packages with accommodation at both One KI and Walcowrie.

Walcowrie is not wheelchair accessible, however One KI provides a no-step entrance and access to all areas of the property.
Bathrooms and facilities at One KI are accessible for guests with limited mobility, however there are no handrails in bathrooms.
